The screenplay written by War Horse‘s, Lee Hall, is titled ‘Rocketman’ and will depict the story of the legendary Piano Man’s rise to fame, starting with John’s childhood, when it was discovered he was a musical prodigy.
John will exec produce the film as well as record some of his hits for the soundtrack. Michael Gracey is slated to direct and will begin shooting next fall.
The 36-year-old Hardy has become one of the most sought-after stars in Hollywood, with upcoming roles in the big-budget Mad Max film, as well as recently wrapping the crime drama, Animal Rescue.
