Legendary Hollywood actor and motorcycle and race car enthusiast
Steve McQueen’s Pioneer Moon Ranch is for sale. Located on more than 500
acres just outside Idaho’s Sun Valley Resort, the sprawling
$7.4-million-dollar property comes with a large two-story log
home and
a 1,728-square-foot garage.
While McQueen himself wouldn’t have used the gargantuan garage – he died
in 1980 and it was constructed much later in 2010 – he certainly would
have had quite a collection to store there. At the time of his death,
McQueen had collected more than 100 motorcycles. He also owned many
exotic sports cars, including a 1970 Porsche 911S, 1956 Jaguar XKSS, and 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso.
Much more than simply a car enthusiast, McQueen considered being a
professional race car driver and also competed in off-road motorcycle
racing. In fact, he performed many of his own driving stunts in his
movies, with two of the most notable being the car chases in
Bullitt and racing sequences in
Le Mans. Check out the photos of McQueen’s larger-than-life pad.
